Nestled in the quaint village of Bulmer, on the border between Essex and Suffolk, lies the enchanting Smeetham Hall.

Surrounded by picturesque countryside, this historic venue is a dream setting for any occasion, especially weddings. Recently, I had the privilege of shooting a photo session at Smeetham Hall Barn in Sudbury, Suffolk, and it was nothing short of magical. As I arrived at Smeetham Hall, I was immediately struck by the timeless beauty of the place.

The barn, over 500 years old, stood proudly, its meticulously restored facade adorned with intricate details. The high vaulted ceilings inside create a sense of grandeur, while still maintaining a warm and inviting atmosphere. It was evident that this was a venue steeped in history and charm.

The grounds surrounding Smeetham Hall were equally captivating. A picturesque lake and pond added to the idyllic countryside setting, providing stunning backdrops for outdoor shots. The elegant house in the background added a touch of sophistication to the scene, enhancing the overall ambiance of the location.

As I began the photo shoot, I found myself spoiled for choice when it came to photographic opportunities. Every corner of Smeetham Hall seemed to offer a new and captivating backdrop. From the rustic charm of the barn's interior to the lush greenery of the surrounding gardens, there was no shortage of inspiration.

One of the highlights of the shoot was capturing the rustic elegance of the barn itself. The warm tones of the wooden beams contrasted beautifully with the soft natural light streaming in through the windows. Whether indoors or outdoors, the barn provided endless possibilities for creative compositions and stunning shots.

Having organised this photoshoot, it was such a pleasure to work with some absolute stars within the wedding industry. Together, we created absolute winter beauty. It was such a pleasure getting to know Victoria and Tom Hyde Parker, who not only were our beautiful couple but are also the owners of Smeetham Hall and Smeetham Hall Barn.
